BABE

In a baby’s smile I see
The warmth of a sun-kissed breeze
The security of enveloping arms
The adoraton of a lover’s touch
The rapture of love’s completion.

In a baby’s giggles I hear
The tinkle of wind chimes
The sound of merry-go-rounds
The voice of tenderness
The whisper of guileless love.

In a baby’s tears I fear
The cruelty of neglect
The destructiveness of anger
The abuse of power
The myopia of prejudice.
