212 Degrees--Boiling Point Get On Fire For God!! Issue 11 (September 2000) |
What is 212 Degrees--Boiling Point?? Are you wondering exactly what this thing is? Follow the link above to find out the mission statement and purpose for this new Christian zine! NEW: Update After The First Year! |
SNACK SHACK The Bible says that man (and the rest of us) does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Soooooo, why not grab a dr. pepper (or soda of your choice) and some chips (hey, fat grams and calories don't count on-line!!) and check out these "snacks" from God's Word. :) | TELL THE WORLD The Bible says to confess with your mouth what God has done for you...where He's brought you from...and what He's doing in your life. Tell the world!! This section of 212 Degrees--Boiling Point is set aside for testimonies. Maybe something you've gone through or are in the middle of right now can help someone else in their situation. Maybe God can use your testimony, your story, to bless someone else and in turn bless you as well. And maybe you can benefit from something someone else has to say. If nothing else, testifying results in giving glory to God, and THAT is our divine purpose! (This section is not available in this issue of 212 Degrees--Boiling Point due to the fact that I received no for it this month. Sorry! Please contact me if you would like to feature your testimony in the next issue!) |
MAIN STAGE This is the place where you can find all kinds of Christian music news. From reviews on the latest albums, to the artists' testimonies, to links to Christian music sites. This is the place to be! |
POETRY CORNER Welcome to the Poetry Corner! Make yourself at home. There's some giant bean-bags to sit on over in the corner over there... Do ya still have some snacks left from your visit to the Snack Shack? If not, help yourself to some refreshments...the ones laid out on that table over there... Now that you're all settled in, enjoy the selection of poetry for this issue of 212 Degrees--Boiling Point. | ISSUES WE FACE Do you ever wonder if God's Word has any practical advice concerning the issues we face today? Well, guess what! The Bible has plenty to say about most of our modern-day problems and concerns. Maybe it doesn't actually use the same terms we do now...but as King Soloman advised in Ecclesiastes, "there is nothing new under the sun". The Bible was written a long time ago, times have changed a little since then. But God hasn't changed a bit, and neither have his commands! So, let's explore some and see just what the Bible does have to say concerning some of the issues we face today. (This section is not available in this issue of 212 Degrees--Boiling Point. Sorry! Please check back next month!) |
KNOW THE TRUTH When you get depressed it is easy to *feel* like no one cares, like God is far away, and like you are very much alone. As Christians we are supposed to go by what we *know* and not by what we *feel*. What do you *know* about God? What kinds of things does the Bible tell you for certain about God? And what kinds of things has God shown you personally about Himself? In this part of 212 Degrees--Boiling Point we are going to keep a running list of things we *know* to be true about God. But I also want to challenge each of you to start your own list on a regular piece of paper or in a notebook. Add to your list every day, and when you start feelilng depressed or alone turn back to your list and see how awesome God is!! Know The Truth!! |
THINK ABOUT IT Throughout the Bible we find many parables that Jesus told the disciples and crowds that gathered around Him. He used these parables to help make it a little easier and clearer to understand some of the harder things He was trying to tell them. These parables really caused people to think, back in Jesus' time and now in our time. Well...these "parables" featured here aren't from God's Word, but the messages behind them are. Read them and see if they cause you to "think about it". |
SPECIAL INSERT ARTICLES This section of 212 Degrees--Boiling Point is for all the special insert articles that are not specifically for a regular column, but are just as important to read! :) I hope you enjoy them! Are You Committed? Why, God? And here's the first article in our new series on Prayer!! Hope you enjoy it! Prayer: An Overview--What It Is And What It's Not |
KEWL LINKS There's some pretty cool stuff on the world-wide web for Christian teens. I've put together a list of some of my favorite sites and webpages that might be of interest to some of you out there. This list is just the beginning, and I'll be adding to it every chance I get! I also welcome links suggested by others, so if you have a link that you want to share with everyone, please send it to me. Thanks! |
HUMOR Okay, this is a new section for 212 Degrees--Boiling Point. Since everything else in this e-zine is pretty serious stuff, I thought I'd include a little bit of humor to balance things out. :) Let me know what you think! |
Link From Your Site!! Well, here's the new link graphic that I've created for 212 Degrees--Boiling Point. If you have a webpage, I'd love it if you'd save this graphic and then link to my site! If you need instructions on how to do this, just let me know! Thanks! |
PRAY FOR REVIVAL This is something that I've been really thinking a lot about lately. Revival...our country, our whole world needs it now like never before. With school shootings happening so often, abortions being performed tons of times every day legally, and the occult in full-swing throughout our society, it seems that God has been put on the back-burner. I want to really encourage you to take a few minutes EVERY day to pray for revival to sweep through your country and world. Pray for your youth group and church, for your school, for your community, for your state and country....for all the leaders and people who make decisions that affect us all. Prayer is a very powerful thing...and the Bible says that when two or three are gathered in prayer, He is there in their midst. Thank you... |

Note From The Editor Hi, everyone!! I hope you enjoyed this issue of 212 Degrees--Boiling Point. I'd like to thank all of you who went and filled out the survey I created for last month's issue. Sadly, all the info was erased on the 31st of August, and I didn't get over there in time to collect any info that may have been received during those last few days. So if you filled out the survey near the very end part of the month, I'm sorry I missed hearing from you! If you asked to be put on the mailing list through that survey and I haven't sent out a notification to you yet, please email me and let me know! Thanks! Well, I guess a central theme of this issue has been "taking the next step" and "getting in deeper" when it comes to your relationship with Christ. This is a really important thing to think about! As Christians we are supposed to be growing in the Lord at ALL times...there isn't a certain place in your life that you can reach where there's no longer another step for you to take. Even the strongest Christians can--and should--keep growing closer to the Lord daily... Well, that's all I have to say for now. :) I hope you all have a great month! Keep your eyes on Jesus...He will never fail you! :) Until next month... Your Sis in Christ~* |
