Battered by storms....
Battered by storms on the sea of life
Sails blown away, no hope in sight
The sky dark with clouds, no stars to be seen
All hope is lost, ready to give up the fight.
When out of the Darkness, undaunted by the storm
Your ship did appear under full sail.
Aglow with a light, a safe haven afloat
A place of peace on a stormy sea.
My floundering ship your lookout did see
Your sails you did reef, into the wind you did turn
Put your ship by my side, blocking the wind and the waves
A place of calm, out of harms way.
A lifeline you cast, to a ship in distress
Took be onboard, an unknown, wandering soul
Gave me comfort, asking nothing in return
Save to have me remain.
Now through the Darkness we sail
Even though there be rocks, shoals and storms
Together we man the wheel, under unfurled sail
Till the Darkness claims its own.
