New Pictures

The first painting below is of  The Zoltan Kodaly School for Girls, a recorder band with a great future. In exchange for the wonderful portrait below they wrote a song for me, "We love Dave Bradbury", which you can listen to here in mp3 format. I went to see them perform earlier this year (grinning like a buffoon all the way through "my" song) and had a wonderful evening. "Je t'aime" will never sound the same again and I've completely re-evaluated my opinion of the recorder.

The second painting below is of Johnny Bolderson and Martin Lightfoot. Pictured holding the painting are your humble artist (on the left), and Martin himself looking suitably impressed and happy to be in possession of his artwork. The painting commemorates the making of a perfect trifle.

The third painting below should actually be in a gallery called Bad Fake Art as it's actually a copy I made of Matisse's Portrait de Marguerite. I painted it for Marguerite Mason for her birthday as she'd liked it when she saw it in the Tate Modern but couldn't get a postcard or a poster of it in the shop. I don't think I'd fool the art experts at Sotheby's for very long, but I enjoyed painting it.

The fourth painting below is of Sam and James Bourne. This was a wedding present commission from Kirstin Hodgkinson. Sam has a sandwich in her mouth in this picture and does not have some strange affliction. If it doesn't look like a sandwich then that's probably because I ran out of white paint and the deadline was close. God knows what they think of it, but Good Luck and a Happy Marriage to you!
