Over the course of five days in September, 1922, the ancient city of Smyrna on the west coast of Asia Minor was burnt to the ground by Turkish troops under the command of Mustafa Kemal. The majority Greek and Armenian populations were obliterated in an act of what has come to be called in our time "ethnic cleansing."

Artists Annee Spelios Scott and John Rexine document their personal involvement with the events of Smyrna in this multi-media installation, with a beautiful yet haunting electro-acoustic soundscape by John Mallia.
