Clan Maclaine of Lochbuie and sept McCormick

For the longest time I have been interested in my heritage. Don't ask me why, I just have a love for the past. My grandparents supported my interest, especially my grandfather who has done a lot of research in branches of our family. I myself haven't done much research that has made a dent in my family's history, but I have organized what has already been done. After organizing and research, I found that the most accesable part of my heritage was the McCormick family. My great-great grandmother was a McCormick, becoming a Stangle later, and I was interested in my Scotch-Irish heritage. My junior year in high school I did a paper tracing part of this heritage in the U.S., and in the summer of '98 I found that the McCormick's were a part of the clan Maclaine of Lochbuie. The summer of '99 I joined, officially as a dues paying member, Clan Maclaine of Lochbuie, and I may become the Indiana Commissioner for the clan. At 21 years old, I am ambitious I guess. To my knowledge, I would be the youngest Commissioner in our clan.
I don't believe I could ever do justice to explain the purposes and history of clan Maclaine of Lochbuie, so below is the clan badge and a link to the website. On the other hand, I think I can do justice for the sept McCormick, so I will try to sum it up a bit.
