D&H Plymouth Branch Trestle, Wilkes-Barre, PA

This is the former D&H Plymouth Branch Trestle in South Wilkes-Barre, near the Barney Farms development. The date stamped into the truss is 1904. The trestle connected to the DL&W Bloomsburg line at Plymouth Junction just on the other side of the bridge. The D&H Plymouth Branch then diverted to serve the Lorree Colliery at Larksville. The tracks have long since been pulled up and only the bridge remains. I fished here many times, and it is a good spot. The pictures were taken over this summer during a period of several months, as evidenced by the water level.

The last shot is underexposed but is an interesting artsy-cutie shot. The stacks of the Lance Colliery Boilerhouse is in the distance.
