The streetscape and street system images of San Diego you've conveyed are compellingly bleak - no doubt enhanced by the strong vertical and horizontal b+w presentation of the photos. I can't think of many other urban areas in which the built environment r lates so poorly with natural systems to produce such a poor pedestrian experience!

trippy. I'm kinda doing the same thing here in La Jolla, walking with a GPS & digital camera, taking pictures of fools in cars, buildings, streets and whatnot for a website using digital overlay vector/raster GIS. I've walked in some pretty amazing plac s in California, but walking in so cal when everybody is driving is always makes me laugh out loud. .

Wrong Space? I wish I could walk in a line from one side of the valley to the other without navigating the urban landscape. Make a move back to see Mission Valley before freeways, theatres, dikes, pumps, malls, and offices. Stop by the Cinema 21 theatre they have some excellent old Mission Valley photographs in a file folder awaiting exposure.
