This is a picture essay on my latest sculpture from start to finish. I started with a 31 pound piece of Brazilian soapstone, and hope to turn it into a grizzly bear. I am working this stone with rasps,rifflers(files) and hacksaws. I will finish it with sanding mesh then do the final finish with 4 or 5 different grades of wet sandpaper. After the final smooth finish I will heat it and finish it with several coats of Paste floor wax then polish it when it cools to a bright finish.
