Suricate (Member of the Mongoose family)16Kb

This is a suricate which is closely related to the mongoose. They are often seen in this pose, standing erect looking out for danger. The drawing is done in pen and ink on recycled handmade paper with a straw fleck. It is this paper which I am using as a background for this site.

Baboon and baby20Kb

This is a female baboon carrying her young. Baboons interact greatly with their offspring thus teaching them the social behaviour of the species. They spend a great deal of time on the ground. The drawing is done in pen and ink on recycled handmade paper with a straw fleck

 This is a Burchell's Zebra. This species are dependant on water and usually stay within 10 kilometers of it. The drawing is done in pen and ink on recycled handmade paper with a straw fleck.

Cheetah with cubs29.5Kb

 This is a Cheetah with cubs. Cheetah cubs play continuosly, learning hunting skills. Mothers keep a careful watch as cheetahs are vulnerable from attacks from lions, leopards and hyaenas. The drawing is done in pen and ink on recycled handmade paper with a straw fleck.

Giraffe feeding on acacia tree.20.8Kb

 This is a Giraffe Feeding. The giraffe is feeding on an acacia tree which is extremely thorny. The thorns are not a deterrent but reduces the feeding rate to a level by which the plant can survive. The thorns get imbedded in the tongue's thick mucous covering and get shed as new cells replace the old.
The drawing is done in pen and ink on recycled handmade paper with a straw fleck.
