Music Links!

Here are a bunch of bands and artists that I love! I'm obsessed with music, so there are quite a few links here (or atleast there will be when i'm done). But they are all worth checking out, trust me! If you ever wanna know more about some of these, just ask me! Most of these sites have sound bytes too, so you can listen to them first!

Okay, on to the music.....

The Nields

The Nields are an awesome band out of Northampton, Mass. They're amazing musicians and great people! It's hard to explain their music....they're folky, but not. They're just really cool! I've seen them live lotsa times and I love them more and more each time! And there new cd Mousse is in my cd player constantly! Go to their site! My buddy John Nicoll-Senft runs it and he's a nifty guy! Tell him Jodi sent you!

Ani Difranco

I love Ani! As you can see, i even used her on my opening page. Her lyrics are so perfect for life. She says what she thinks and doesn't hold anything back. And her voice is amazing...I guarantee you'll be amazed by her music! If you haven't already heard her, you're missing out!

Patty Griffin

When i heard Patty Griffin's first album, Living With Ghosts, i was captured by her voice. She just belts it out, and she sounds so passionate. And her new album, Flaming Red, just blew me away! I can't stop listening to it. And then i saw her live in Philly at Penn's Landing...she was incredible. Definitely check her out!

Peter Mulvey

Okay...anybody that knows me knows how much i love this guy! He's an amazing folk singer. But his newest album steers away from the folk stuff and i love that just as much. I can't decide which of his albums is my favorite...i love them all. His voice is just amazing! And his lyrics and music are so wonderful. I've seen him live a few times, and even had the chance to meet him, but i couldn't get myself to talk :) I felt like such an idiot, but i did get my cd signed! He's so good! Trust me!

Dan Bern

I first saw Dan Bern open for Ani and i was blown away. He voice was so powerful, and his lyrics were awesome! I'd never heard anyone like him. He's got a huge stage presence like Ani does...but he's different. I have all three of his albums and they're all fantastic!

Moxy Fruvous

Moxy Fruvous is one of my favorite bands in the whole entire world! They're amazing...So much fun & great for dancing! They have so much energy, and they're harmonies are unbelievable! They're from Canada, and they are a blast to see live. If you ever hear of them touring near you, run--don't walk-- to their show! :)

Moby

I first heard Moby in my high school Music Appreciation class, imagine that! The song I heard was this beautifully slow, almost Enya-like song. I thought it was amazing, so i ran out and bought the CD. I was so surprised to hear what the rest of the cd was like. There are so many different styles on this cd...from industrial stuff to techno and soft new-age and instrumental stuff. Since then I've bought about another of his cds and that ones just as great. Definitely look for him!

Jim's Big Ego

My friend Ariana first played me a Jim's Big Ego cd cuz she knew i would love it, and i did! Jim Infantino is fantastic. Anyone who writes a song called "Bite Me Hard" is okay in my book! :) And I just saw him live last week opening up for the Nields, and he was just as great. I can't wait for his new cd to come out. The site is great too...it even has some of his poetry on it. Great stuff!

Division Street

My friend Sarah and I saw this band playing a street festival in Boston in May! And they were awesome! We bought both of their cds and now we're hooked! And the guys were so nice. They talked to us for awhile and signed our cds! :) Go to their website..it's gotta lotsa cool stuff on it!

I'm always adding stuff to this, so check back for new links! Cuz right now, i'm just getting started! Enjoy what's here tho, and there will be new stuff soon, I promise!
