Chapter 8: Arrival in Nano

Not Exactly What We Were Expecting

As the rescue party stepped into the portal they realized that this might not be exactly what they had expected. They could feel their bodies changing and as they hurtled towards Nano, they caught glimpses of the others going thru incredible changes.

Moshe was close to Ian and saw this change as Ian turned into a Xuptilian

Ian, himself, could feel his body changing as he entered another dimension, but had no idea that he was no longer "human" in form.....he had become very much like the last person he had been in communication with- ---which happened to be the second Xuptil. -----In fact. he now looked like a twin to the Xuptil.

Jan had a very dramatic transition, since she had been thinking about her favourite colour-purple-as she entered the inter-dimensional portal.

cats had gone first

Yowling all the way thru the interdimensional changes

Joseph was having the time of his life, as he had just been thinking about his dog, Max....and suddenly, he had paws of his own.

As he twisted and turned he could see the other members of the rescue team hurtling thru the dimensional fields, changing colours and shapes.

The very first view of Nano was different from what they had seen pictured in the Museum.

Joseph recorded the intial sighting in his sketch book and this is what he drew: a rather psychedelic view of Nano as they "landed".

"Hey, you are one cool looking Dude" Moto said to Joseph, "can you bark like a dog?"

"Well, I think I can.....here ..... how's that?"

"Real nice....think you can make sounds like a rock now?" asked Kozo.

"Common you two," Dani interjected, "this is no time for barking and quibbling. We've got to figure out where we are."

"Not exactly in the right place...." said the second Xuptil, "and what am I doing in two places at the same time??"

"I'm not you. I'm me!" said Ian.

"I think we are in the 43rd sector of the fifth dimension. And we should be in the sixth dimension, 22nd sector. We're going to have to find another portal," Dani said.

"Fifth dimension!!!!" Jan said, "I always wondered what happened to them."

Just as Jan was speaking there was a loud crashing sound behind the group. As they turned to see what the noise was, a rainbow coloured zebra approached them.

"Hey, wot cha guys doin' 'ear?" the Zebra said.

Jeannettte was the first to speak up. "Well, we're apparently lost and need to find a new portal to get tothe sixth dimension, sector 22. Can you help us?"

"Chaaaa. Of course i can. But how ya gonna pay for me services?"

"How about she doesn't crap on your head?" Kozo answered, referring to Jeannette's new appearance.

"That no attitiude mon. Ya gotta do much bettah dan dot," the Zebra continued, "hows about ya take me along for the trip? I could get behind dot plan."

"Yeah, well, OK" Ian said, "Now can we get going?"

"Yes, we must find Eric now..." Susie chipped in.

About two dimensions and five thousand sectors away, Eric was listening to Zoot, as the little character was explaining his "wish" to Eric.....
