Welcome to Kozo and Moto's home page. Some of you are already familiar with the two black cats....they've been around for quite awhile, running loose on notecards and in the book "The Adventures of Moto & Kozo" (strange poetry, illustrated by Arnie Gatton of Keokuk, Iowa).
Kozo is the senior cat and Mr. Moto, the teenager. They live in London in an apartment house named Blair Court on the short end of Boundary Road (right near Swiss Cottage). They were born in Jeannette's flat and have had a pretty good life (though they still haven't been to Ken & Jeannette's house in Spain)
They are quite social and enjoy e-mail (from humans too).
Of course they have had there "ups and downs"....but have been wisely counseled by Eira, the counselor from St. Albans (who, in turn, had learned much from the elderly cat statesman, Oakie of St. Albans.) I mention this counseling session, not so much as to reveal the "dark" side of their personalities, but because during the counseling at Eira's, the two cats discovered the work of Michael Beddal, an artist of boundless energy, with a huge portfolio. Moto and Kozo became more and more interested in Michael's art, then other art, then starting hanging out at Museums....which explains how they come to have befriended the curator at the Museum of Mankind....
By the way, I should point point out that Eric and Susie, two new characters in Chapter 2, are real persons. They live in London, where Eric really is an Optometrist. You can reach them via E-Mail at the e-mail link on this page.
As for the "creatures from another dimension", they're sorta real. Enneagram Animals is a book where they first appeared. But they are based on aboriginal drawings and "dream time" paintings. Moto and Kozo are about to meet more of them in Chapter 3 and learn that just like the people we meet everyday, some are good and some are not.
Ian lives in Watford and frequently orders Chinese takeaway for dinner. He can also be reached via the email link on this page. He is employed by the British Museum and works as a night watchman at the Museum of Mankind. His American cousin, Arnie Gatton, is the artist who first illustrated "The Adventures of Moto and Kozo".
There is also a "breakaway" story section called "Moto Cafe". The Cafe is in Eritrea, North Africa. But it is visited by people from all over the world. There you will meet the real-life characters from "Moto & Kozo". These are my friends and the inspiration for my work as an artist and writer. Hope you enjoy this web site....
