Welcome to the Columbia River Gorge!! This wonderful area lies along the mighty Columbia River east of Portland, Oregon. The river cuts thru the heart of the Cascade Mountain Range, exposing cliffs of basalt that are over 15 million years old. Here you will find diverse environments and ecosystems, from old growth rain forest in the west end of the gorge, to semi-arid desert in the east end--a distance of a mere 50 miles!!!

There are over 70 waterfalls in the Gorge on both sides of the river with most on the Oregon side. These are the focus of most of my photography here.

Here is one of my favorites: Latorell Falls in fall color.

Elowah Falls pounds the rocks at your feet. You can feel the spray in your face and power of nature in this picture!!!! A short hike from the Warrendale exit parking area (off I-84 west) takes you to the foot of the falls.
