For July, I'd like to start back in time with a series of drawings and paintings I did while living in Philadelphia, Pa. in the 1980's. This is where I was born, but my family moved to the New Jersey suburbs when I was in my early teens. I have always loved the faces of the small stores in my South Philly neighborhood. The series from the 70's was also about buildings, but the larger buildings, especially the ones with clock faces. When my daughter reached school age in 1986, I, too, moved to the land of detached bungalows, green yards, and small friendly schools. My pictures of the 90's are landscapes and, this summer, my interest has been in still life photographs.
