Ruth Farrell's love for paper began in San Francisco, the city where she
was born and
attended an elementary school mainly populated by children of an Asian
culture, therefore
in addition to her a,b & c's, Ruth emulated her Japanese classmates and
learned early to
master the love of script and the skill of Origami.
These gifts were refined upon moving to San Jose, California and joining
both an Art Club
and a Calligraphic Society in this city she choose to call her own. She
became proficient
in the former and has accumulated quite a few ribbons for her watercolors
and her
collages.
I am not cheap. I am, infact, Frugal. I am a 'How to' Junkie. I
think it appropriate at
this time to reveal that I am the Mother of seven children, fully grown,
and at this writing,
I have 16 grandchildren to remember on birthdays and holidays and
that explains what inspired
my career as a Recyler.
In this book you will find a display of earrings (click here) made from Burnt paper,
Stiffened cloth,
Plaster of Paris, Glue, Watercolor paper, Tree Bark, Bread dough & Wire
Screen.
Eventually I decided to specialize and confined my earring making efforts
to the use of
paper which I make, marbleized, sculpt and transform ECONOMICALLY.
