Statement:

The models are filmed on Hi - 8PAL video tape, instead of the conventional 35mm film format. *Therefore there are no negatives available of these images. *Nor are the images archived in any way on computer floppy disks. Once the images have reached the stage of exhibition, the original master image is erased from the computer. From the video tape, the images that are to be used, are divided up into a movie type of sequence, i.e. frame by frame, using the software known as Adobe Premier(TM). Then the still frames that are chosen to be used get transferred to anouther piece of software known as Adobe Photoshop(TM). The images are then enlarged to the size required, manipulated, i.e. colour changed, backgrounds added or transformed, highlighted, texturised toned and hued.

The Photoshop software is very similar to processes used in a conventional darkroom, with the exception that the photographer can view the image changes while on the computer screen before printing, which is usually not possible in a conventional darkroom. The completed photograph is then transferred to an Epson Stylus1500(TM) printer and printed on HQ 720 DPI Glossy Photographic paper.
