Marienburg is composed of hundreds of small islands linked together by bridges. There are different Locales, (as shown to the left) each of which comprise a number of islands. The Suiddock is perhaps the most interesting place for adventures, being Marienburg's main dockland area, stuffed with unusual people and places. The Centralwijk is a more affluent area, but with no less interesting places to visit. These are the only two areas that I have entries for at the moment, but a brief description of the other areas is as follows:

Elf Town is a city within a city. Located deep in the centre of Marienburg, it has its own laws and regulations. About 500 Sea Elves live in its enclave, but some othe races are present too. Halfling Row is on the Edge of the Elven Quarter.

Norddock is also unusually removed from Marienburg as a whole. Huddled behind the sea wall are a series of small 'company towns.' This is whereMarienburg's greatest dockyards are; where military and commercial ships are made. Each Island is owned by a specific concern, either the military or one of the largest merchant houses, and each island is self sufficient. Residents mostly live and work in the same place all their lives; and are distrustful of outsiders. Intermingling between the islands is not encouraged, and permission needs to be granted from both companies for intermarriages to occur.

The Oostenport is largely a working class residential area. Colourful local neighbourhoods are common - the Nipponese, Cathayan and Kislevite enclaves are present here, each with their own distinctive architecture. Students of the various colleges and University in Marienburg often reside in the Oostenpoort.

The Strompoort straddles the River Reik, and is mainly a middle class residential area. There is quite a high military presence - guarding Marienburg from the pirates and animals in the wasteland.

Beyond the Walls are a few locations of Note: Rijker's Isle is a prison for the worst convicts, situated three miles outside Marienburg in the Sea of Claws. Marcellus van Wallsum, a private investor and eccentric lives on his own island just outside Marienburg's Jurisdiction, and finally a bizarre plinth rose out of the sea three years ago, which was followed shortly by the arrival of a wizened old man, who took a small boat out to it, climbed on top with a large book, and hasn't said a word since. On good days, many visit this oracle, who answers one query a day by tearing out a page from the book and passing it down to the questioner.
