'collaboration'

"As students, we need to be aware of the power that we hold. If we work together, and channel our energies to constructive goals, we can make a positive difference on this campus..."

the issue
The Administration of this University intends to remove all vendors from the campus, including our beloved ‘pie-lady’, Maria. We can NOt allow the University to limit our freedom of choice to food in this way. The Draft, your campus newspaper, MADOC (Make A Difference On Campus) and UWIAID - Solutions For Hunger have come together to resolve this situation. It is our goal to get ALL student clubs and organisations involved in this campaign.

in support of maria
Maria has been selling her pies, juices and pastries on this campus for more than seventeen years. She has become a mother figure to many of the students at UWI St. Augustine. Maria has always given her time and energy to supporting student ventures, such as assisting in the cooking for events organized by the UWI Hindu Society. It is our duty to ensure that she is not unfairly treated and that she is allowed to continue to serve the students at this University.

the power of students
As long as a large number of students support this initiative, we can be successful in keeping the people that we have come to know and rely upon, on this campus. Among the vendors to be affected are Maria, Joel (the nuts man), Joe and Payo. Please sign the petitions and voice your support to this effort.
