Statement of Philosophy

I am a playful person, and my art reflects this trait. I enjoy creativity and energy. For a long time I have tried to find out why people are afraid of colors. This fear is visibly expressed in the clothing people wear and in the environments they inhabit. Why are people in warmer climates more open to colors? In a northern city like Boston it would be so easy to compensate the gray shades with color.

I have a great affection for everything that has been created with diligence and love, and for materials, in particular for silk and paper. I love their texture and surface. This complements my passion for color. The raw material of my paper is always cotton whose color does not fade under the influence of sunlight and time. The challenge was to combine paper with various materials in two or three dimensions. This is an artform that invites inventing new possibilities such as transforming the appearance of common objects.

I use my energy to make my environment more exciting. Where else was it easier to begin than at home? Thus, art became part of my everyday life. Art is everywhere. It all started with my inability to provide in stores what I wanted, such as pillows, drapes or lamps. I created more and more of my fantasy world, which many others have come to enjoy with me. The wonderful feature of art is that it can give the artist immediate gratification.
