Good News

I have good news! How often can a person say that? In my case, it's been happening a lot lately, mostly because of my new job. Things just keep happening so fast...I can hardly keep track of it all. But I don't want to talk about work now. I don't really know what I want to talk about...if anything at all. I just thought it would do me some good to sit down and type tonight. I don't have to work tomorrow, so I figured I'd have some time to do this...I just wish I had some direction.

I didn't mean that in a vague, philosophical way. But now that I think about it...I'm lucky to have a job, seeing that I just graduated a few weeks ago...so am I being selfish for wanting more? I mean...I love my new job...it's fun and I enjoy it. But at the same time, there's so much that I aspire to do -- so much that I want to accomplish. Is it silly that I'm thinking about that?

Medical Conditions

My feet keep falling asleep. I wonder if my circulation is bad or if it's just the way I'm sitting. It's been happening a lot lately (my feet falling asleep). My arms do too. That sort of freaks me out.

Music, Goo Goo Dolls and Boy Bands: We Can Live Without Them

Another thing that freaks me out? The lead singer from the Goo Goo Dolls. First of all, I'm not a fan. They're okay...and so are their songs, but I think I'm sick of hearing "Iris" and "Slide." Anyhow, the lead singer has some funky hair. It looks way too coiffed. The reason this popped into my head is because I just finished watching VH1's "Behind the Music" and all I wanted to do was run a brush through his hair. It looks like he spent an hour trying to make his hair looked disheveled. Sorta' defeats the purpose, I say.

Speaking of music, I have a confession to make. I would never admit this to any of my friends, but since they probably won't be reading this because none of them really surf the 'Net, I think I'm safe. Let me preface it by saying I'm not a fan of the Backstreet Boys. Really. I'm not a fan...but I actually like one of their songs. I would be made fun of incessantly if this was unearthed. In fact, I'm not a fan of any super mainstream band or artist...but I can't help but hear a Backstreet Boys song now and again on the radio. That is my confession. So I like one of their songs....so what, right? Obviously this is an issue with me. :)

Boy bands. They really suck, don't they? And there's always one member of the "band" that is always hidden in the back in their videos. One guy who isn't that good-looking. With 'NSync, I think the whole "band" should be hidden in a corner. They look like a bunch of teeny-boppers trying to look hardcore or "cool"...how they fail. Why do people call them a "band?" There's nothing band-like about them at all. Not one of them plays an instrument. Most of those groups don't write a word in their songs...it's a shame, really. And you would think people learned from the whole New Kids on the Block thing, you know? If you don't have talent, people will eventually figure that out. Even if the "people" in question are 12-year-olds who don't know what good music is and have never heard of the Beatles. What the world needs now are some good singer-songwriters. Some people who have talent and can play some instrument (even if it's only a tamborine, like Liam Gallagher -- at least he tries).

Enough for tonight...talk to y'all later....
