Not much is here, unfortunately; I'm limited in disk space. By visiting often, you will help show the usefulness of this page and increase the disk space alotment.
I know that Web downloads are much slower than conventional downloads, but I've found that most people have no clue what archie is, much less how to use it. Most probably could not even do a command-line ftp anyway.
This makes things more available.

If you can't uncompress a file (don't have gzip?) but want it anyway, contact me and i'll post an uncompressed version for you.

Games

NESticle -- The NES emulator for the PC. (330k)
Remember those old Nintendo games? Well, if you're like me you have a stack of them and a broken classic NES collecting dust. With this emulator you can play all the games you remember --of course, you must supply your own NES ROMs: this is just the emulator. Don't even try to download Nesticle; it isn't there. I've learned that GeoCities does not allow emulators, so rather than have my page removed I'm removing NESticle (for now). I'm going to look into this further because this emulator is (as far as I know) freeware.

Fractint -- The fractal viewer and editor. (477k)
This version is quite old, but it runs under DOS and still produces gorgeous images If you would like, you may view my pitiful sample output.

Sorry -- Source for an auto apologizer. (1k)
Do you have a girlfriend? I don't (thankfully), but I hear that people who do have to apologize all the time. This saves the trouble, especially on a UN*X system:

A few simple changes and you have "I love you a thousand times" and "marry me a thousand times." It has a few dark possibilities, too, like "I hate you three thousand times" and "shut up for the millionth time." Of course, you'll need to accompany this with whatever gifts work on her. Just about anything works on me, but I'm not a typical woman. If you don't have a compiler this is useless to you (unless you get the --still console-- winsorry.zip (23k) with the source and binary). If you get any errors about some .dll missing, let me know and I'll post it.

htprep -- Source for a hypertext postprocessor. (4k)
This turns your pretty, readable html into very tight, very ugly html that will load faster because the page is smaller. It's ideal for use in transfering files from a staging area to a production area because, aside from reducing whitespace waste and converting microsoft-mangled characters to stuff fit for the internet, it can also cut the whitespace in comments or strip them completely. I'll be using it myself once i set up a staging area.

UN*X Utilities

countdown -- sleep replacement. (14k)
Like sleep, this takes one argument --the amount of time to sleep. The difference between countdown and sleep is that this keeps you posted by printing the number of seconds left. It is also abortable from the keyboard (by hitting ). This is useful in scripts so the user knows the script is sleeping, not hung. I use it in my .xinitrc after a "starting X in 5 seconds" message. if I hit ^C i bail to a command prompt, but if I hit countdown aborts and Xwindows starts immediately. Mote that this is source code, not an executable.
