New year's party (also called "Reveillon" in many languages, specially
its original, French) 1998 to 1999 I spent on a very pleasant country called
Chile. For those who haven't opened a geography book during life, Chile
is in South America, right next to Argentina, below Bolívia and
Peru. Chile is one of the only two countries that don't make a border with
Brazil (the other one is Equador). I was lucky to know some beautiful cities
in Chile. First of all I went to Santiago, its capital. Then I went to
two beaches: Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. Then I got to know a ski resort in a
town called Portillo. But December is summer in south america, so there
was no snow for me to ski (I love skiing). But Portillo is a very beautiful
place with or without snow (I've seen it with snow on some post cards). This trip
was from December 31st thru January 3rd.
I swear this
lake is for real. It's so beautiful one could think it's fake, or a painting
behind me. But it's for real. I got a chance to drink of its almost freezing
water! Portillo, Chile.
This is another picture of that same nice lake (sorry, I missed its name.
Our guide told us, but I was so impressed by its blue-to-greenish colors
I couldn't hear the name). Portillo, Chile.
This is in Shopping Center Parque Arauco, Santiago. Don't I look like
a "Santiaguino"? Santiago, Chile.
