1. Alexander Sloan1 Stephens was born in Franklin (Hart), Co, GA March 12, 1831. Alexander died August 5, 1897 in Anderson Co, SC, at 66 years of age. His body was interred in Old Silverbrook, Cem., Anderson, SC.
He married Mary H. Chandler in Hart Co, GA, December 15, 1856.(84) Mary was born in Reed Creek, Franklin (Hart), Co, GA July 15, 1833. She
was the daughter of Henry Farmer Chandler and Frances 'Fannie' Witherspoon Harbin. Mary died November 20, 1916 in
Anderson, SC, at 83 years of age. Her body was interred in Old Silverbrook, Cem, Anderson, SC.
