He married Mary Theo Dora Ray in Jackson Co, Ga, November 24, 1938. Mary was born in Jackson Co, Ga May 12, 1909. She is the daughter of Samuel Sylvestus Ray and Flora Evaleila Chandler. She resides in Athens, GA.

Howard Teasley Sr Abney and Mary Theo Dora Ray had the following children:

2 i. Rosemary² Abney was born in Athens, GA February 4, 1940. Rosemary died November 15, 1982 in Athens, GA, at 42 years of age. Her body was interred in Mt Olive Cem, Commerce, GA. She married James Bruce Sheuring in Athens, GA, October 4, 1962.

3 ii. Howard Teasley Jr Abney was born in Athens, GA December 22, 1943. He married Linda Lee Sharp.

He resides in Athens, GA.

4 iii. Ray Chandler Abney was born in Athens, GA July 27, 1947. He resides in Athens, GA.
