This year

Winderswil

2005

This year’s annual holiday was at the small rural village of Winderswil in the Jungfrau region.   The later is a must to be visited when going to Switzerland.

Jungfrau is the highest mountain in Europe (3454 m/11333ft high) definitely you would not be let down if you want,  like me coming from a hot country, to see snow and ice... it is a guarantee!!   It is easily reached by train..  The observation hall, the impressive ice palace are the best attraction.    One must not miss the ski lift and the husky drawn sledging.

Our stay was in the idyllic village of  Winderswil which is situated only 4 kilometers south of Interlaken, the place which is frequently visited by tourists. Winderswil offers an endless range of excellent spectacular scenery in an unspoilt natural world.   Definitely this place is highly recommend and worth visiting!!!!!

This was our second holiday in Switzerland and hopefully there will be more.  My wife and I stayed in a family run hotel called Belmont Hotel situated just right opposite the Jungfrau Mountain.   The spectacular of the scene from every window of  this hotel is beyond this world.   As from the very start of the day one cannot miss from the breakfast room the magnificent view of the Highest Mountain in Europe.

Monica and Hans-Peter were always in attendance.  They always helped us out how we could drive our way to different localities.  It would be a pity had one to miss the exquisite food of the Baron Grill in Interlaken belonging to the same owners of the hotel.

One of the things which we missed when we returned back to Malta was the chat at the bar  or at the lounge with Monica and other inmates,   exchanging recommended places  were to go the next morning.

This holiday was an exceptional one never to be forgotten.

Here are some pictures which we took during our holiday.
