Knowledge Life Cycle

Knowledge and the ability to distribute and evolve it has long been an endeavor of many knowledge management professionals. In the global environment of today the evolution of knowledge relates to everything from business practices to scientific research. The world of knowledge management comes to the rescue of common issues related to maintaining knowledge stores. Among these are:
  • Aging knowledge
  • Tacit information
  • Knowledge Hording
  • Organization
  • Distribution
  • Recognition
  • Re-creation of knowledge
These are all problems of current day systems. The creation of knowledge is constantly under development, but how does the knowledge change when needed? Even if knowledge changes, what methods are used to validate the legitimacy or accuracy of the knowledge? The Knowledge Life Cycle describes the process of which knowledge can be constantly evolved. There are 5 steps in the Knowledge Life Cycle:
