Smokeing Text

  • Using Paint Shop Pro's text tool choose a font .( I used 48 pnt. Aardvark in this tutorial)
  • Get the graphic smoky.gif here.
  • Select black for your foreground color.
  • Place your text on the screen
    Don't deselect it.
  • Select FILE > OPEN >smoky.gif.
  • Select the FILL tool from the tool palette.
  • From the control palette select :
    (Type pattern, Oppacity 100) OPTIONS (smoky)
  • Fill the text.
  •   Select IMAGE > EFFECTS > CUTOUT
    (Shadow Color white Oppacity 79, Blur 4,Vert. Offset 4, Horiz. Offset 4)
  •  Select IMAGE > EFFECTS > CUTOUT
    (Shadow Color white, Oppacity 79, Blur 4,Vert. Offset -4, Horiz. Offset -4)
  • Select the RETOUCH tool from the tool palette.
  • From the control palette select :
    (Type push, Size 3)
  • Drag "tendrils" upward from the text.
  • From the control palette select :
    (Type soften)
  • soften the tendrils & top of the text.
