Alvarez was the maiden name of my grandmother Inez Daria Alvarez. My Great Grandma, Uncle, and Aunt originated in Venezuela and migrated to Puerto Rico. Our family had strong political influence and were well known in Puerto Rico.

Daria Alvarez (My Great Aunt)

One of most beautiful women in all of Puerto Rico. Very well known.  When she walked in the room all heads turned in awe of her beauty. Literally lit up the room.   The family had considerable amount of political influence and were very wealthy.   She was very conservative.  She had no children.  Daria was a nurse and watched over Inez.

Inez Daria Alvarez (My Great Grandma)

Grandma Inez spent the latter part of her life with Juan Moral Campo, the son of the most famous composer of dance and music in all of Puerto Rico (see the statue of Juan's father below). They fell in love and gave birth to Leonardo.  Great Grandma died giving birth to Leonardo.  Leonardo is still alive today and has a son and a daughter.

Talentino Alvarez (My Great Uncle)

Unfortunately, the picture of Talentino that the family has is metal and can not be scanned.  Hopefully in the next time I visit Puerto Rico I'll get his photo copied.

Talentio is the brother off Inez and Daria Alvarez. Talentino gave birth to a daughter who he named Inez (who is in the picture to my left). Talentino owned a bakery in guyama and was very well off.  Talentino married Santos the mother of Inez.  Inez told me that she considered my great grandmother (Inez Daria) to be her mother more so then Santos. Inez is 82 years old and looks wonderful.

Stomping grounds of my family in Guyama

Plaza de Guayama where the family used to play.

Great grandma was baptized by the wealthiest man Puerto Rico named Parinda Jesusita.  The white house on the right is where he lived.

The church my grandparents where baptized at.
