My Thoughts

People ask me where I'm from, why Texas of course. The best place in the whole world to be if you ask me !! Maybe I'm a bit one-sided about it, but thats just the way I see it. The people, for the most part, are friendly. And the state has a wide range of differences, you have the flatter plains type areas, all the way to the Hill Country, kind of like small mountains. Dry to lush, and everything in between, can all be found here. It does get too hot, and it does get too cold, but it's all worth it!! Traveling around, you can find just about anything you want to do. There are caves, beaches, theme parks, camping areas, fantastic lakes for fishing, resorts, golf ranges, forests to hike in, oh geez, it goes on and on ..... I love to just drive and look at the sites. In the hill country area, it can be hard to drive at night for all the deer on the roads. And during the day, the deer walk right up the cars, had a buck try to stick his head in the window to look at my dog, hehehe, my dog got all excited, she loved it!! She also got to meet a fawn up close, they were nose to nose, that scared her a bit, suprising because she was a chow. A good place to visit and find out more about Texas is TravelTex - Texas it's Like a Whole Other Country Thats the way I feel about it too, dont ya know ..... On to other things. As far as I'm concerned this stuff about the president has gone just a bit too far. More tax payers money has been spent than was needed. You dig long enough on anyone and you'll find something. The bit about Monica, should be have been between Bill, Hillary and Monica. As for it happening in the White House, who knows how many other presidents did the same thing, but they were not being watched ...... And thats all I have to say about that!! Let's find something better to talk about !! How about kids. Aren't they wonderful?!?!?! I have three and wouldn't trade them for the world!! All of them are girls, well a girl and two women now, 15, 18 and 20. My daughters and I are best of friends, we have worked hard at keeping good relationships with one another. My mom and I were never close, and I promised myself it would be different with me, and so far it has been ....... We do have our fights, but when they are over we apologize, and let the other know we still love them, and all is forgiven. Spanking was something I never believed in, My mother would spank me, but my father's aproach got more results, he would give me the cold shoulder, that hurt worse than any spanking I ever recieved! And believe me I was more careful not to upset my dad than my mom!! Added Thursday, February 25, 1999 I have had quite a few good responces to my pages. I'm amazed in fact, at the number of them!! It makes all the effort I put into my pages worth while!! So to all of you that have told me that you like my pages I say "THANK YOU". Each time I read one of your notes, it brightens my day :-) added Thursday, February 25, 1999 I know my pages are getting a bit disorganized, kind of the way my mind is!! LOL There's no hope for my head but maybe there can be for my website. I'll try to get it together a bit better, so its easier to get around in it. I'm also working on recipes, I have several that are my family's favorites. Including the ones that are requested at family get-togethers. But I'm one of those who doesn't measure, so I'm having to remember to measure and write down what I use. I was teaching my sister-in-law to cook a few years back, I was explaining to her how much of each ingredient to use, but wasn't measuring them as I did. She asked me how I knew how much I was adding, I told her I guessed. She didn't think it could be close to what it should be, so after pouring what I thought was a cup of milk into a pan, we poured it into a measuring cup, and sure enough, it was exactly a cup. hehehe I'm afraid I'm not that good anymore. I'm slightly out of practice. So after I'm sure I have the correct amounts I'll be posting them. Added Wednesday, April 21, 1999 I have finally gotten a few of my recipes up. I am now working on a few more poems. They are some that my oldest daughter had written when she was a teenager. She's just barely out of that now at 20. Not all of them are poems, some are short, (very short) stories. They are mostly strange, but if you remember being a teenager they might make sence. Unless of course you had an abnormally happy adolescence. The names of some of which are 'She Knows Not', 'The Cutlass' and 'Life' (Life can be described as a computer program). Sounds strange allready, huh? Well they have made sence to me while reading them, and some of them hit home. I had a typically unhappy adolescence and her poems and stories brought back memories. Not all of them were good, but they are what makes me what I am today. As do all things that happen in someones life to change who they are to some degree. Added Thursday, July 20, 2000 I've been a granny almost 6 months now. And it is GREAT !!! Serenity is a beautiful baby, and I'm not the only one that thinks so. She is growing like a weed. And she has her grandma's hair, the color changes with every wash. She is almost sure to be a blonde because it is on both sides of the family, parents and grandparents. It was an instant family for my daughter, Serenity's daddy has two other fantastic kids, a boy 6 and a girl 4. They seem like having a little sister. I'm hoping to get some more resent pics of her scanned. Well guess thats all of my thoughts for now. Hope I didn't bore you too much !! Maybe I'll add more later. Till then ...........
