Laurie's Fish Page

Ok a little about my fish and aquariums. At the moment I have five aquariums, (I'm hoping to get more soon). They are 2 x 6ft, and 3 x 2ft. One of the 6ft tanks in packed full of Malawi Mbuna. These include:

Psuedotropheous (Maylandia) Zebra:

OB ~ 2 male (Maylandia estherae),

Tangerine ~ 1 male & 3 females (Maylandia estherae),

Redtop ~ 1 male & 2 females (Maylandia greshakei)

P. Lombardoi:

1 male & 2females

P. Socolofi:

1 male & 3 juveniles

Labeotropheous Fuelliborni:

Redtop ~ 1 male & 5 females

Labidochromis Caeruleus:

1 male

Melanochromis Auratus:

1 male & 1 female

My second 6ft aquarium is more of a comunity planted tank, but it is also used for growing on juvenile fish. At this point in time it is divided in half. At the time of writing this it contains:

Half no.1: Pterophyllum Scarlare (Angelfish): 1 male gold marble & 3 juveniles (2 black marble & 1 gold marble ), 3 Black Neons, 5 assorted danios ( leopard and zebra), 1 Albino Corys, 1bronze cory, 1 Pepper cory, 2 Bristlenose catfish: 1 male and 1 female, 2 female Betta splendens ( who are on R&R from spawning assignments), & 3 juvenile Aequidens Rivulatus.

Half no.2: 1 Pleco (Pterygoplichthys Multiradiatus), 5 Aequidens Rivulatus ( 2 males and 3 females).

Of my 2ft tanks:

One contains a mated pair of Cichlasoma (Archocentrus) Nigrofasciatum (Convict). At the time of writing this they currently have a spawn of about 100 fry.

The second one contains a male Herichthys Carpintis (which is the species commonly called a Texas cichlid in Australia).

My third 2ft tank is a planted grow on tank for juveniles of various species. It's currently being used to spawn and grow on Betta splendens. It contains about 2 dozen juvenile fightters at the moment. The father is suspended in a net breeding trap awaiting the time the youngsters can be moved out to make way for him to sawn again.

I also have an esky turned into a makeshift home with a filter for some juvenile Tangerine Zebras.

I have plans to get more tanks to keep up with demands of spawning fish, and my demands on wanting to keep more and more species.

Another project I would like to try is a planted river tank, or Paludarium. I think when done well they are a beautiful tank. ....I'll keep you all posted on the progress of these plans.

The table below will contain pictures of my fish when I get some of reasonable quality.
