Holocaust has always been my "favourite" theme in world history. From I waas very young I found the history of WWII very sad. I have read a number of books and seen lots of movies about this period to learn more. How could this happen?

When I did my first inter-rail through Europe in 1995 I decided to visit the former concentration camp in Auschwitz in Poland. This visit was a sstrong and emotional experience, and my desire to learn more grew even stronger.

As a result I decided to participate in the program called "Hvite busser til Auschwitz" (White busses to Auschwitz), a theme tour back to various concentration camps in Germany and Poland, together with and ex-prisoner.

After talking to my high school, different organizations, political parties, companies and the city council, me and two classmates got the project (incl. financial assistance) approved. In Sept. 1996 we left Norway by bus. With us we had a camcorder and several cameras, so we could share what we saw with the rest of the school.

The trip was amazing, not like anything else I have ever participated in. To read more about my trip, click here.
