Tech Specs of Hot Rod

Welcome my autobot friend, I am Rodimus Prime, I am Hot Rod after he got the Matrix of Leadership and became leader of the autobots. This Section is based on all the hot rod toy tech specs. Expect Sizzle (Hot Rod Europe), Hot Rod Patrol and Star Convoy Hot Rod.

Hot Rod

Allegienace: Autobot
Subgroup: None
Function: Cavalier

My actions speak louder than words.

Profile

Hot Rod is the all-American-boy Autobot. Not too sweet, not too sharp, not too snotty... not a goody-goody, but basicly a typical adolescent who has dreams of doing great stuff and being as heroic and important as Optimus Prime (and other famous and revered top Autobots).

He tends to follow rules until they bug him - and he sometimes learns, to his regret, that disobeying wasn't exactly smart. And he often acts without thinking in an effort to do 'the right thing' - and this often gets him and sometimes his friends in trouble. But he's not afraid when trouble does arrive, and is a brave and honorable fighter and friend.

He is especially close to Kup, the grizzled old mentor of an Autobot, although he sometimes resents hearing 'wisdom.' And he likes Daniel, the human son of Spike Witwicky, a lot. (In a way, Hot Rod is a big brother to Daniel - a role model - and Hot Rod knows it and takes the role seriously.)

Hot Rod often goes off on his own adventures with 'Firebolt,' his new Nebulan partner. 'Firebolt' led a quiet scholarly life as Nebulos' top atomic physics scientist until he became the thrill-seeking Hot Rod's partner in an unusual act of spontenaety and adventure-seeking. He is excited, but nervous, about the prospect.

In robot or automotive mode, Hot Rod is sometimes hot-headed, but always a well-meaning, admirable 'lad' and popular with all who know him.

Current Status: Cheetor in Beastwars

For a time, Hot Rod assumed the role of Autobot Commander under the name of Rodimus Prime. Chosen by the Matrix itself, Hot Rod led the Autobots for just under two years, before eventually returning the Matrix to a ressurected Optimus Prime.

Abilities

Hot Rod is an excellent athlete, by Cybertronian standards. He uses six wrist-mounted photon lasers (three per arm) that can temporarily electromagnetize an enemy robot's microcircuits. He also has built-in circular saws in his forearms. 'Firebolt,' his Nebulan partner, transforms into an electrostatic discharge rifle, capable of effects similar to Hot Rod's photon lasers, but up to three times stronger.

Hot Rod transforms into a high-speed race car, Cybertronian design. Maximum speed: 330 MPH.

Weaknesses

Hot Rod's impulsive actions often get him into trouble. His compassion for other living creatures also makes him somewhat overprotective of anyone weaker than him, such as Daniel or Firebolt.

Rodimus Prime

Allegienace: Autobot
Subgroup: None
Function: Autobot Commander

Experience is the benchmark of maturity.

Profile

Rodimus Prime is the mature, transformed persona of Hot Rod.

This transformation and simultaneous assuption of the rold of Autobot Commander occurred during a major battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. Reclaiming the Matrix of Leadership from Galvatron, the new Decepticon Commander, Hot Rod's body and mind were bolstered by the Matrix's powers, altering him into the warrior he never was as Hot Rod.

It is as Rodimus Prime that he defeated Unicron, and restored temporary peace to Cybertron by driving the Decepticons off-planet. Thanks to the wisdom the Matrix grants him, he speaks with the savvy of a seasoned veteren. Still adolescent at heart, can be hot-headed at times - he has a tendency to act first and ask questions later. His sole purpose was to protect all life.

Current Status: Other

Rodimus Prime lost posession of the Matrix on three occations: Once, he gave the Matrix to a Quintesson-controlled Optimus Prime, but reclaimed it before Prime could destroy the Autobots. The second time, he lost it in a race against the Stunticons. He was able to reclaim it in battle. The final time, he lost the Matrix to a ressurected Optimus Prime, who used it to purge the galaxy of a deadly hate-plague. Rodimus then reverted to Hot Rod, and has remained so to date. It is generally assumed amongst the Autobot ranks that, upon Optimus Prime's death, Rodimus Prime will lead the Autobots once more.

Abilities

Rodimus Prime posesses acute military prowess. He is an expert tactician with exceptional maneuverability in battle. He is among the strongest and most resiliant warriors in the Autobot ranks. In Robot mode, he carries a photon eliminator that shoots high voltage electricity. He transforms into an armored light cargo transport vehicle, of Cybertronian design.

Weaknesses

His only weakness is his compassion for other living creatures.
