Welcome to the world of Heuriger!
This page takes its name from the Heurige, establishments unique
to Austria's wine-growing regions, the most celebrated of which are nestled
in the villages skirting the city of Vienna. To the north of the city is
the Wienerwald, or Vienna Woods (pictured above), where one can
roam among the vineyards and woodland beyond the villages of Grinzing,
Nussberg, and Heiligenstadt which helped to inspire Beethoven's Sixth,
or "Pastoral", Symphony.
This page has been honoured by the GeoCities Vienna neighborhood's:

Personal highlights and observations of the Imperial City. From Stephansdom to the Staatsoper to the Wienerwald to the Congress of Vienna to Sachertorte and Sturm, Austria's capital offers a full plate for every taste.
Classical pianist Alfred
Brendel receives the usual suspect WWW treatment including information
about his biography, interviews, recordings, and concerts.
Viennese artist Gustav Klimt's distinctive style, blending the exotic and the decorative, has put bits and pieces of his work -- like the Impressionists and Leonardo -- on everything from fine-art prints to coffee mugs and t-shirts. Check out what all the fuss is about in this virtual Klimt gallery. At present there are 20 paintings in the gallery; in future I hope to provide a biography and more background and museum information, as well as a short commentary on some works.
Parisienne Anne Parillaud exploded into the international scene with her "hit" lead role in 1990's Nikita (La Femme Nikita), the French spy thriller with a Pygmalion twist which earned her a César, France's equivalent of the American Oscar (as well as a similar award in Italy), for Best Actress. Find out what she's been in before and since...
Actress Kristin Scott Thomas captured international attention with her sensitive portrayal of Fiona in Four Weddings and a Funeral and looks poised to do it again with her latest, The English Patient, co-starring Ralph Fiennes, Juliette Binoche, and Willem Dafoe.
